Why not use the normal JMU dining site?

Why use this site when JMU already has a site to display all of the meals? Frankly, because it's almost unusable. There are way too many things going on to properly understand what options are available and what actually changes day to day. While knowing every salad bar ingredient is useful for: those carefully planning their meals, it can easily overwhelm you with information not useful to the majority of users. Most people just want to know what's available at the rotating stations, to decide if they should eat there or go somewhere else. Additionally, people with dietary restrictions need clear, accurate information to decide if the more limited options available to them are worth the visit. Nobody wants to use punch just to see if they can eat at the dining hall and leave empty-handed.

Plant forward logo, a light green circle with one abstract leaf
This logo signifies that a dish is plant forward, meaning that it is mostly made of plants. It is frustratingly vague and often confused with the vegetarian logo, despite the fact that it can contain meat!
Vegetarian logo, a slightly darker green circle with two abstract leaves
At a distance or small size, the logo for vegetarian items is similar to the one for plant forward dishes.
Vegan logo, a dark green circle with three abstract leaves
This logo signifies that a dish is vegan, and is mercifully distinct from the others.
